Title/Role: Accounts Payable Specialist 
Division: Finance & Accounting
Location: South Plainfield, NJ (after ~3 months on-site training in Long Island City, NY)
Reporting to: Accounts Payable Manager
 
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves efficiently and accurately managing a high volume of full-cycle accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will ensure timely payments to vendors and subcontractors while maintaining excellent relationships with internal departments and external partners.

What You’ll Do:

Accurately review and process all invoices and vendor information
Ensure timely and precise entry of transactions into Emque accounting software
Prepare and execute check runs
Reconcile statement balances to ensure accuracy
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries, resolving discrepancies through thorough research
Set high standards for customer service and lead by example
Perform tasks under limited supervision

Requirements:

Experience in the construction industry is advantageous
A bachelor’s degree is preferred
5-10 years of experience is highly desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
Strong customer service skills with acute attention to detail
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Capable of identifying and researching necessary information independently
Willingness to work in Long Island City, NY (when needed)

Salary Range: $62k-$68k/year
