Position Summary:
We are seeking an Onsite Purchasing Manager who will play a critical role in leading the electrical procurement for a Hyperscale Data Center. In this role, you will lead the onsite purchasing department in tasks like identifying vendors, placing orders, and tracking inventory. You will also communicate with Project Managers and Field Staff to resolve issues related to pricing variations, missing items, invoice approvals, and more.

Salary Range: $125k-$135k/year

Position Summary:
We are seeking an Onsite Purchasing Manager who will play a critical role in leading the electrical procurement for a Hyperscale Data Center. In this role, you will lead the onsite purchasing department in tasks like identifying vendors, placing orders, and tracking inventory. You will also communicate with Project Managers and Field Staff to resolve issues related to pricing variations, missing items, invoice approvals, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for All Procurement activities associated with the electrical installation
- Liasion with Vendors and Subcontractors and onboarding programs
- Update vendor pricing and complete POs: Verify if the pricing matches the purchase order, and if not, update the prices and complete the purchase order. If there are additional items on the invoice that are not on the PO, reach out to the purchasing agent.
- Respond to vendors: confirm receipt of pricing sent; they ask about payment status; if duplicate invoices, ask for credit; if overpriced, email vendors and purchasing agent/ project manager about the price difference and try to resolve what the issue is.
- Approved invoices: Check invoice discrepancies if the invoice amount is more than the purchase order balance. Reach out to Purchasing agents and the project manager to verify the correct invoice amount and ask if it’s okay to increase the PO. On the descriptive POs (RP, SC, MP), check to see if items were expired/returned.
- Reject invoices without Pods/incorrect pricing and tax rate.
- Increase POs: add shipping cost, price adjustments, and change date.
- Add missing items from invoices on Kanverse: job #, date, vendor ID, company name, PO #, tax, freight, total: enter PO on the system to find the missing items, if there’s no PO, lookup the company name to see if there’s any open PO with the same item on the invoice or if there is a purchasing agent/ project manager to ask for the missing PO.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical purchasing experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite in addition to project management software; E-J currently uses Procore, Emque, Riskcast, Toric, and more
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the electrical contracting space
- Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
- Practical knowledge of construction
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Practical knowledge of construction processes
